Songs of The Summer

10 songs for any feel of summer from laying down in the back of your pickup truck with a burning pink sunset to the fattest nap you’ll ever have in your life on a New England beach

Flying or Crying (Live at RedRocks) by Zach Bryan

The Zach Bryan love from this brand may be overwhelming at times, but there is due reason for it. Flying or Crying is absolutely rock classic. It’s the perfect song to turn onto when you feel like speeding down a road at night or just one to turn on when you just feel like screaming into the night. It’s the type of song that embodies the teenage freedom of summer.

Blinded By the Light by Bruce Springsteen

That one Bruce Springsteen sexual family member will love this choice, but again there is due reason for it. This song was written and curated for the summer. If Flying or Crying is the teenage freedom of summer, Blinded By the Light is the 70s teenage freedom. The song just extrudes chillaxifcation. Listening to this song you’ll find yourself anywhere peaceful from Martha’s Vineyard to Southern California.

Summer 91 (Looking Back) by Noizu

The title literally has Summer in it. But, if House music is going to blow up anytime soon, this song better go along with it. Can find this song anywhere from the tracklist of a washed up Miami DJ, who lowkey slaps, to the Sonos of your friends parent’s backyard for a simple die game.

Always Alright by Alabama Shakes

If there are any soapy movie lovers like me, you might recognize this song from Silver Lining Playbook; a Bradley Cooper and J-Law masterpiece. This is a song for rooftops down, it may get you a little in your feels, telling your friends about how much you love them, but hell man, this song is beautiful.

Int’l Players Anthem by UGK

A well known classic, but just because it is well known doe not mean there is no reason to bring it back. R&B vibes need to make a comeback sometime soon.

Nobody Else by Axwell

This is a true House song. A consistent vibey, disco-esque beat. Just a classic head bump. Perfect for the beach, a long drive, or just a simple sesh. This song is not gonna be your homerun hitter, but it is a consistent 275-300 hitter. If Levels is Aaron Judge, this is Andrew Bennitendi.

Shut Up and Drive by Rihanna

After a Superbowl halftime show that your uncle probably had a questionable comment about, everybody is gonna be playing Rihanna this summer. This song might make you think you are 10 years old in the 2000s again, but is that not the point of summer.

Everything I love by Morgan Wallen

Morgan wanted to pull more of a country bumpkin feel to himself with his song, rather than his usual Nashville type, which do not get me wrong, does indeed slap, but there is more of a country, South Carolina river fishing, feel to this that feels right for an American summer

Bennie and the Jets by Elton John

I love Elton John and every human being in the world sure as hell should too. The piano on this song makes you feel just a great type of happiness. It’ll make you feel like your the main character in an Artsy movie going through some philosophical change, but man it just makes me feel great.

Get Out My Head by Shane Codd

The beat and the piano on this song is what you think of when you think a summer House song. House is the perfect genre for the summer. If you ain’t got jack for dance moves, this song will help you out.
